I was there yesterday. Yes, there are large sheets of ice in some places, but it is not on the major parts of the Green, which were shoveled, and salted.
The large sheets of ice were in front of the churches, which according to the city's repeated announcements, are responsible for their lots and the sidewalks in front of them. The same thing is happening on Elm st. in front of the big brown church. I know churches are tax exempt due to non-profit status, but that does not exempt them from following city ordinances. I guess maybe they will get it when someone slips, falls, and sues.
BTW, I have tried to reach someone at these churches, but have gotten no response. Perhaps if there is an alderman on here or a member of one of the congregation, then they could get this taken care of.
